The outbreak of the COVID-19 virus is impacting the way of life as most of us are used to and the effect is major. At this point in time there are no certainties when trying to asses when the outbreak will be under control or what the long-term effects will be. RFC North Sea - Med wants to inform about the impacts to the flow of goods on rail as well as the day to day operations of the Rail Freight Corridor.

The year 2019 was a mixed year for the North Sea Mediterranean Corridor in terms of both volume and punctuality. The number of freight trains fell more sharply on the French and Belgian networks, but remained stable in the Netherlands and Switzerland.
